Automata and Flow Robotics collaborate to provide end-to-end automation

Published:

Automata is well-versed in putting together task-based automation systems to provide end-to-end automated workflows in laboratories.

The company has teamed up with Flow Robotics and integrated their robot arm, Eva, with flowbot® ONE. In the workflow, Eva tends to flowbot® ONE by switching its racks continuously while it performs pipetting tasks.

Supplying affordable automation to life science

“The value of implementing end-to-end automation workflows in the laboratory is everything from increased walk-away time to helping laboratories’ most valuable asset, which is people,” Oscar Cutts, Sales Executive at Automata, explains and adds;

“Other values include increased throughput and making best use of the equipment, you have already invested in, by ensuring that it can work for you whenever you need it.”

When integrated with 3rd party devices, the flowbot® ONE allows laboratories to use as little hands-on time as possible on pipetting and helps the workers utilize their talents on more valuable work.

“The flowbot® ONE is great because it gives us a lot of flexibility and is easily integrated with existing equipment. It makes it possible to accurately pipette the right amount of liquid into the well-plates that are loaded by EVA,” says Oliver Pilsbury-Gaunt, Head of Partnerships at Automata.

“We share Flow Robotics’ vision of supplying affordable automation to the life science industry and making automation accessible for all,” he adds when asked about the collaboration.

Together the companies strive to assist life science laboratories with reaching their full potential from behind the scenes.
